Talking about holocaust there is one thing imho, which is really wrong - it (the Holocaust) is presented as a property (= tragedy) of one nation - jews. It's theirs. Nobody's else.
Nazis tried to exterminate the jews.
Nazis (which basically means Germans) killed jews. There were some people of other nationalities on both sides, but basically it's still the same: germans killed jews.
I think that's just wrong. Wrong in many ways, but biggest problem I see is that when somebody says that what the mean is "they killed them"... as in:
They (not us, not me) killed them (not us, not me)...
Well... but when I look at the photos from Auschwitz i think:
That's what people (just like me) did to other people (just like me)...
It is not about race.
Not about nationality.
Not about genes.
Not about ideology.
Not about "tolerance".
That's about us - about humans.
We. Are. Scary.
